On Friday, March 28, the exciting new TopNACHI nationwide consumer discount card
hit the streets. The website (www.topnachi.com)
undergo a few changes over the next few weeks as InterNACHI members offer feedback.
The TopNACHI Card program offers a way for InterNACHI members to increase their
market share and profitability, even in this slow housing market and economy! It
is a way to increase contact-with and referrals-from any professionals involved
with real estate (real estate agents, lenders, and insurance agents). There are
several ways this is accomplished, and the "Market Share" document provides detailed
information; available online at the TopNACHI site (click link at end of article
to go to site).
Members visiting the site can browse the savings and read the brochure, but to gain
access to the InterNACHI-specific business growth information, first-time members
must Register on the "Members" page using their InterNACHI Username, and selecting
a Password to be used only for the TopNACHI site. The "Market Share" document is
under "Training", and it details how to use this program to grow your business.
First, you ask, "What is a TopNACHI Card?"
It is a consumer discount program that provides savings of up to 50% on a range
of goods and services both locally and nationwide. Savings for restaurants, retail
stores, online shopping, hotels, and car rentals are all part of the benefits. It
also contains a discount pharmacy program that reduces the cost of many prescription
medicines between 15-40%; often cheaper than insurance co-pays. This Internet-based
program (not a coupon book) allows for the addition of new savings programs and
merchants at any time, and several of these are already in the works.
The TopNACHI Card also provides savings to members living in remote areas, since
online shopping and discount prescriptions are also a part of the program. Members
can also help to increase our provider network by referring a merchant on our site.
Anyone can log-in to the site and can search anywhere by Zip Code for participating
vendors, but only Cardholders can actually access the savings. TopNACHI does not
claim to do miracles, but simply provides an easy way for everyday people to save
on everyday expenditures. It is very reasonable for a cardholder to save hundreds,
or even thousands, of dollars per year using the TopNACHI Card; just a few uses
can more than return the $49.95 retail card cost when someone purchases at retail.
The web site features a Savings Calculator to help estimate future savings.
"How does this help me?"
The TopNACHI Card lets you sell your customers a program that can help them recoup
the money they spent on your house inspection service. Since you are the one that
gets credit for providing them with access to the savings, your service becomes
essentially free! How is THAT for a marketing tool?
"OK, but how do I use this to build my business and make additional dollars?"
Each TopNACHI Card comes in a "Card Pack", attached to an introductory color brochure,
and sealed inside a printed envelope. You can buy Card Packs in Units of ten (10)
Packs, mailed to you first-class in a shipping envelope. We recommend at least two
Units to begin; twenty Cards. Card Packs are intended for use as loyalty-building
gifts for professionals, and as a value-added product you can sell to your inspection
customers.

As a business builder - We recommend using the Card as a business-generating
gift to real estate professionals. Since there is not a dollar value attached to
the card, it does not violate any laws concerning gifting, and since it is a gift,
the recipient has nothing to lose, regardless of the number of times they use it.
We recommend that you initially target real estate professionals with whom you have
never done business. Why? Since you do not currently get business
from these people, this is where the Card can have the most profound affect; opening
new doors. Once you get your Card Packs, set appointments with professionals to
show how your top-quality inspection service can also save money for the buyers
they are representing.
Show them how the TopNACHI Card can help their homebuyers save; take them online
to the TopNACHI web site to use the Savings Calculator. Ask them to "give you a
try" with one or two inspections to see how you do, and then give them a TopNACHI
Card Pack - just for listening. If you have done any kind of a good job in the presentation,
chances are you will get at least one or two jobs, and open the door for more! One
inspection job can pay for 10-20 Card Packs, so this becomes a very inexpensive
way to boost your profit. Get 20 Cards Packs out there, and there is a chance it
will bring 40, 60, or more jobs to you … jobs you would not have ordinarily gotten!

As a loyalty builder - Your TopNACHI Card Packs provide a new "twist"
to your services when talking with real estate professionals with whom you already
do business. A Card Pack will work well as a loyalty builder, and it gives you a
way to make your business "stand out" from your competition.
Once the professionals see the simplicity of the program, they will understand that,
by recommending you to a client, they also have the opportunity to create loyalty

a year. Chances are, they will want to hear about it, and you then have the opportunity

it helps to offset the investment in Cards you give away to professionals! Retail

If an inspection job is large enough to warrant it, or if the customer is a developer
or someone from whom you can get additional business, you may wish to give them
a Card Pack just as a gesture of goodwill.

To eliminate having to make a separate sales pitch for the TopNACHI Card, another
option is to roll the price of the card into your inspection price, making the card
an included part of your services. It is up to you what portion of the retail or
wholesale price you roll up; either make a profit at retail, or just pass on the
cost. Either way, it is something that will promote loyalty and referrals.
